Height field 3D model of Castle rendered in Cheetah 3D

This fractal is called Castle. When viewed in 3D, it has an outside wall with towers along the edge.

The formula is z = 1 /( 1 / ((z + 2 + c) - 1 / (z - 2 + c))) which is similar to the formula for parallel resistors from electrical engineering. It took Fracton 25 minutes to make the model on my 8 core Mac Pro. The model has 1.5 million vertices and 2.3 million faces. The 3D image and animation were rendered in Cheetah 3D. You can view a 20 second animation of a fly through of the castle. The animation took about 1 hour to render in Cheetah 3D.
